No key signatures are included as key signatures seemed to make it too complex for my younger musicians, but I do tie it in to key signatures we are working on in the music. Opportunities to learn double sharps and double flats as well as enharmonic notes. When I introduce a new key, I usually spend a few minutes teaching about what to look for, then give students a few minutes to teach each other the new notes, then we play and I evaluate. To put my groups into context I have a beginning band (any grade) and an advanced band (by audition only). I use this in the advanced band, which includes students in their 2nd semester of playing all the way to students in their third year of playing.
A separate page with the Concert Bb chromatic scale is also included. I recommend teaching that one early as it will help with all of the other scales.
